What was once a humble livelihood training in a small building in Echague, Manila in 1975 has now flourished into a university with five campuses, 18 colleges, and more than 20,000 students from preschool to graduate studies.

In the span of 45 years, New Era University (NEU) has contributed to the world a manifold of professionals excelling in various fields. In addition, it has produced numerous top-notch graduates and achievers that carved the name of NEU among top-performing universities in the Philippines. A great welcome to its sapphire year celebration is the 100% passing rate of the first graduates of the university’s newest colleges—Medicine, Respiratory The-rapy, and Medical Technology—which join the long list of 100% passing rates of the College of Nursing.

The university has proved itself crucial not only to the academic community but also as an epitome of public service. The free Summer Pre-Kindergarten Program (SPKP), Alternative Learning System (ALS), and linkages to labor sectors are just some examples of its services, which are spearheaded by the College of Education, College of Business Administration, and College of Accountancy.

The university is also an active arm of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in carrying out humanitarian projects like free legal services, medical and dental missions, livelihood training, and other community outreach programs. They are fronted by the College of Law, Center for Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, College of Criminology, and College of Arts and Sciences. NEU also established the College of Agriculture with a separate campus in Baras, Rizal to realize the vision of the Executive Minister of the Church, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, which is to help the nation cope with the ongoing food shortages.

The recent years witnessed NEU’s intensified global expansion. The establishment of the ASEAN Center opened NEU’s gate to international linkages. Its breakthrough is our partnership with Russia’s Moscow State Institute of International Relations, including the successive visits to the university by ambassadors and representatives from different countries. The cultural and academic collaborations are helmed by the Center for Languages, along with the College of Music, College of Communication, College of Computer Studies and the newly established School of International Relations.

The 45th anniversary of the university coincided with the ongoing onslaught of COVID-19. Even amidst the pandemic where education is adversely affected in the Philippines, NEU is not hindered in bringing quality education to students as it has already been operating the New Era University Virtual Learning Environment
(NEUVLE) for years now. The NEUVLE serves as the primary platform in teaching the students without the expense of their safety.

The success of NEU in these 45 years is attributed to the Almighty Father. Without His blessings, this parade of victories would never have been realized. Now is the moment to deeply contemplate and uphold evermore the principles that bind us, the NEU family: excellence, discipline, and service to humanity for the glory of our Almighty God.
