The new members of the editorial board and regular members of Hudyat, the university’s official student publication, took oath on February 1, 2021. The event also marked the relaunching of Hudyat’s official website (https://hudyat.neu.edu.ph/), as part of the organization’s 40th anniversary, with the theme, “Hudyat at 40: Keeping pace with online journalism.”
Dr. Margele Andres, the dean of the College of Communication, administered the oath-taking. In her message, Andres emphasized the mission of the organization and encouraged the writers and staff to serve the University with “accuracy, objectivity, coherence, and social responsibility.”
Mr. Paul Eraño Ladrillo, the editor-in-chief of Hudyat, recognized the array of skills and talents that each member can offer. “Now that Hudyat has more members, this translates into a greater workforce,” noted the head of the pool of 60 student-journalists. “We [will furthermore] develop our content, especially those that are in line with today’s times,” he added.
